the snorting a line references escape me, but the tricks to Imitrex NS are these:
1) A bit faster acting than the tabs, but still use it very early on in the attack
2)Don't use the clogged up or runny nostril - the med doesn't know which side your CH is on - the idea is get it into your system, so inhale through the clear nostril
3)Stick it in your nose, exhale, tilt your head back, and as you squeeze the bottle inhale slowly and deeply
4)Keep your head tilted back for a few seconds so that the med doesn't run back out your nose - you need it to be absorbed through the mucous membranes in your sinuses
5)You will get a really nasty tasting "post nasal drip" action where the stuff will drain into the back of your throat for a couple of hours afterwards - tastes lousy but small price to pay for relief

Like you, I use the tabs. Overall, I prefer the tabs as I found that response time of both is about the same and the tabs don't give you the lousy aftertaste, but hey, if the NS are free samples we can't be picky.

Good luck and good to see you again, Doug.
KTSSU,
T
