Am new to this forum and to CH. Was just diagnosed. I am 53yo so I guess I'm lucky that it is just now appearing...if you want to call it luck. More like bad luck. Anyway, I was reading thru some of the pages on the site here and one area suggested not to eat Oriental foods. I live in Chiang Mai, Thailand. So, as you can see, there is a bit of a problem with foods. Tho, CM is a tourist town and there are many many places to eat falang (western) foods, I would seriously miss eating the foods here. Of course, to relieve/put off the headaches, I would gladly give it up. Nothing is as important as not having the headaches. What is it about Oriental foods that put it on the list? Is it the MSG or the noodles or the spicey foods? I'm looking to eliminate only those food groups that would be intrusive but keep the rest. So far, I've been somewhat lucky in that I finally found a Dr. who knows her stuff. She has prescribed a pain killer called Zolmitriptan and I've had 2 uninterrupted sleeps (well, the 2nd sleep was interrupted by that wonderful device called a phone...must remember to turn it off before throwing the dice in going to sleep) and no headaches in 27 hours. I feel lucky. Any comments about foods to eat, not to eat would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
