were you driving from like the SF Valley (500 feet) to high desert, or the other direction? I haven't had a problem with either but I notice when I visit my sister in Lancaster, CA (4000 feet) and there are four smokers in the house I get a CH attack almost every time I am there. I haven't figured out whether it is the altitude or number of smokers... and I even smoke too.
