The degree of pain depends on how quickly I got to the cold water, if I could make it right away then I usually abated before the real bad nuralgia started in like 25 to 40 minutes, but if I got held up or didn't have it available and even if I had ice with me it always got to me in all areas mentioned, threw up so many times now that I have a severe hyaneial hernia and all I have to do is ben over and liquid from my stomach run's up and out! so Yes is the answer is a shorter version!
