Does this sound familiar?:

I am in a cycle. Taking verapamil but not enough and I am getting some attacks.

Woke up at 4:30 this morning with the “twinge” as I like to call the start. Naturally I told myself that this was a false start and was not the real McCoy. NOT!

Two hours of

Red, droopy eye
Extreme restlessness
Pacing interrupted with sitting on the edge of the bed with my head in my hands
Dark thoughts
And
The Pain ( I won’t try and describe it – you know the deal )

These two hours transition into something else around 630 am:

Something else:

Attack is gone
Dull ache mostly still behind right eye but radiating to back of head
This is the time when I crave strong coffee to “clear” my head
I drink 3 cups of coffee
This lasts till about 10 am

I am fortunate to be on vacation now. So I didn’t have to deal with the “should I stumble off to work decision?” looking like an ex-member of the Taliban.

I have a question for you palookas. This period after the true attack has ended when I have the dull ache for hours – Is this your “shadows?
