Briefly, this may happen IF you are taking verapamil for blood pressure/heart problems, not if you take verapamil for clusters only and have no heart/bp problems.
Grapefruit juice influences the bioavalability of verapamil so that it stays longer in the body.
The doctor calculates a dose for your heart/bp problems but the grapefruit throws his calculations off.
If I remember correctly, the Verapamil producers also say you should NOT STOP taking the fruit if you always took it before while taking verapamil.
For that would also influence the dosage.
