I agree with Jonny's comments. I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like CPH (Chronic Paroxsymal Hemicrania) - a relative of Cluster Headaches. The primary difference is that CPH sufferers generally get 'hit" with many (5-20 per day) short episodes, as opposed to less frequent but longer duration with Clusters.

The good news is that CPH almost always responds to a drug called Indocin (Indomethacin). Indocin is an anti-inflammatory, like Ibupropen - it's often prescribed for sports injuries like elbows and knees. You have to be SURE that you take it with food, or it WILL burn a hole in your stomach. As with any condition, it is IMPORTANT to have your doctor rule out other problems. Go ahead with the MRI (and/or MRA) just to make sure, then ask your doctor about Indocin! Please post your progress on the message board.

Good luck!
