Cloudy Day

I wake up each morning; I see clouds filled with pain,
I pray; “Please, dear God… don’t let it rain.”

The sins of the fathers, are those to be mine
Do I pay the price of a long gone crime
Why, I ask, yes, why, why, why…
Will I live with this curse till the day that I die?

I wake up each morning; I see clouds filled with pain,
I pray; “Please, dear God… don’t let it rain.”

I long to be held by sweet, tender arms
To soothe away all these bitter qualms
Dance, I say, yes, dance, dance, dance…
To the sinister tune of the Piped Piper’s trance

I wake up each morning; I see clouds filled with pain,
I pray; “Please, dear God… don’t let it rain.”

Fear filled I live, my life never free
Chained to my pain, a prisoner I’d be
Flee, I say, yes, flee, flee, flee…
Escape from life’s unreasonable reality

I wake up each morning; I see clouds filled with pain,
I pray; “Please, dear God… don’t let it rain.”

Give me a new today; give me a new tomorrow
Take away this pain, take my dreadful sorrow
Hollow, I say, yes, hollow, hollow, hollow…
Through my soul this plead to heaven echo

I wake up each morning; I see clouds filled with pain,
I pray; “Please, dear God… don’t let it rain.”
