as a young girl she moved with her family to Herleen in the Netherlands.
On that side of the family I am German, Dutch and French.
My father ( an American soldier ) met my mother in Holland during WWII. They married right after the war and my mother emigrated to the US.
It always amazes me how grown people have the guts to pick up and move to another country.
It seems like you have a real interesting background and if I understand you correctly your ancestors are Dutch and they were among the first white settlers to South Africa in the 1800s.
