Hello to all.Im 28 years old and have been suffereing from Cluster Headaches since I was 18.I was first told by my doctor about five years ago that my headaches had a name....."Cluster".NOBODY believed me how bad these headaches are. They all said to take some asprin and it will be fine.Yeah right!!!!!My attacks happen to me in the middle of the night.Always about three hours after I go to sleep.I wake up and in/behind my left eye and top of my head(left side) is a pain so bad I want to just die. Many of you know what its like.Every "trick" I tried to get rid of this intenese pain fails.Ice pack over eye and on head, standing in the shower under warm water, beer, advil, excederin "migrain" pills, headphones with soothing music,ect....Nothing works. What really gets me is my doctor cannot tell me why this happens to me.He said its unknown why Cluster headaches accour to people.I feel bad for my wife because when an attack accours to me she also gets a rotton nights sleep.I feel so helpless.I have been taking "DURADRIN" perscribed by my doctor. They "seem" to help.It all depends on the night I guess.Sometimes the cluster goes away easy, other times it take hours.Sometimes I will get them 2 or 3 times a night. They dont happen much to me during the day,but when it does I just cant function. Many peolpe just dont understand the pain I go through.I wish they would get just one attack to know what it is like. One more thing I would like to share. When I get these attacks, its always every day/night for about 1-2 weeks. Then I wont get them for months.Thank you for letting me share my pain with you.
