I am a pharmaceutical rep and a 7 year suferer. If your doctor is truly committed to helping you he will get you the samples that you need (that are not covered on your plan). I don't handle Imitrex (but I wish I did!). But I know that the Imitrex reps get an enormous amount of samples delivered to them on a quarterly basis.
My advice is to ask your doc to contact the Imitrex rep (his nurse can call) and get you some samples. If he balks at this idea I personally would question his committment to me as a patient.
