There are two flavors of IP addresses... static IP (never changes) and dynamic IP (changes every time you log on to the Internet).

Jonny has a static IP address that will always be the same for one computer.

Most of the rest of us have dynamic IPs... everytime you log on it changes. But you can usually spot imposters if you remember who has what Internet service. I know for instance TonyG is on AOL. His IP (and most others using AOL) is always going to be 205.188.xxx.xxx, 152.163.xxx.xxx, or 64.12.xxx.xxx... not some number in Saudia Arabia.

You sort of have to do your home work before deciding who is real and who is not.
