I have taken Elavil several times for my CH. First in 1995 after trying a 30 day dose of prednisone. Again in 1997 for a 30 day period and I am taking them now since November. However, I am taking them together with a 12 day course of pred. I will say that the elavil helped me in 1995 and 1997, however, they don't seem to be doing much for me this time around. My neuro said this drug takes about 6 weeks to take hold and you definately need something to get you by until it takes effect. He said that most of his patients don't get any relief from it. Sorry.
