I read this to Greg........ I will not repeat what he said about anyone that would think that we supporters don't understand or know the pain (bad words, bad, bad words!) I will only say that he kissed me on the top of my head, told me he loved me and said with tears in his eyes, "I couldn't live with this nightmare if I didn't have you by my side."
Whom ever you are, know this WE DO KNOW, we experience a pain of the soul, deep within our beings that aches every second our loved ones suffer with this beast. This is the same ache that every human being suffers when someone they love hurts. It's called empathy, love and compassion.
I have nothing but pity for anyone that can go around with the "my pain is so much worse than yours, and you could never understand" attitude.
I have spent 22 years with this man, and never, ever walked away from him, not once, even when he has been raging, punching walls, crying, begging me to shoot him, never once have I walked away, I have stayed at his side and done whatever I could to ease his pain and help him through it, then done what I could to help the kids deal with it, their feelings of helplessness and fear. Then tried, usually unsuccessfully to get a little bit of sleep, always with one eye open anticipating the next hit.
You don't think we know what you go through? You don't think we belong here?
