I've been chronic since the demon found me 10 years ago. "Usually", I get hit once every day, or two. Currently, however, I've had about 4 attacks in more than 2 weeks, which is rather unusual. There seem to be episodes within that pattern wherein I get hit several times during the day and night, which sounds more episodic in nature. After a period of weeks, I revert back to the chronic pattern, which for me is far more manageable. Hope this helps.
