As a chronic sufferer also, the Imitrex injections have always worked for me as an abortive, usually within 15 minutes. The tablets have never worked and the couple of times I tried the nasal spray it took considerably longer and did considerably less than the injections.
If I'm able to catch it a little sooner I've been doing better with Amerge (2.5 mg tablets) than the Imitrex injections. It seems to last longer.
