It's one of the new generation of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs used for treating osteoarthritis. It is pretty new... received FDA approval less than two years ago.

It's in the same category as Vioxx (rofecoxib). I know that some migraineurs have had success with Vioxx, so I guess it shouldn't be a surprise that Vioxx and Mobic might work for CH as well.

Both Mobic and Vioxx are believed to work by inhibiting prostaglandin production. This would explain their effectiveness in treating osteoarthritis, but I must admit I fail to see how this would help with CH. There may be some secondary mechanism at work here.
