I went though a time when I pleaded to be cut. I didn't care about the post-op drooling or anything else for that matter. After talking with the Dr's and pleading my case to cut PLEASE, I was asked to try 'one' other way first. I take Inderal 160mg LA (no side effects) and eat my pain killers (that I hate the sight of) and deal with the rebound headaches. They're much easier to deal with then the full monty. I take Percodan for the pain, Valium 10mgs as needed becouse I know they're comming, and my Inderal. My wife has been just great for the past 17 years with these things. I don't know if a Beta blocker and pain killers to the point they would knock out a cow is the answere for your husband, but once I realized this is the way it is after all other meds failed 100% I'll take the pain killers and avoid the surgery. At one time I needed to dose myself with 5 to 8 Percodan now 2 or 3 work as long as I get them in me quickly. I always have 12 on hand just in case. I chew them and let them desolve in my mouth, it has gotten me away from banging my head on the walls and nightstand. Best of luck, Ed
