Respectfully, of course.

The trick with imitrex is to get the stuff absorbed into your system as rapidly as possible. This is of course the whole point behind injectors and inhalers.

If it takes too long for the pills to kick in, they are useless from a clusterhead's perspective, as has been noted countless times on this board. Exposing the crumbly inner powder by splitting the pill, or even by scoring the coating with a razor blade, allows the imitrex to be absorbed within minutes.

My neurologist agrees with Bob's neurologist on this point. Split them, crush them, chew them, dissolve them in a small bit of water beforehand... anything that will hasten the absorption is a GOOD thing.
