Hang in there. I'v always been episodic. The worst part for me were the early years when I didn't know that I had CH and had to listen to everyone offer up what they thought were the causes and then waste more time and money trying to find a "cure" for 3 or 4 years until I find a neuro that diag. me. I also had them during my college years, making it hard to go to school. Educating those around you can be very hard. Still doing it today with my wife of almost 6 months. She hates 'em.

My clusters used to arrive several times a year during the earlier part of my cluster life. I'm in a CH episode now that started last month. It's been 3 1/2 years since my last go 'round with the beast. The pain still hurts like it always has, but at least I have more to fight it with.

The hardest part for me now is finding a doctor who knows what he/she is talking about when it comes to CH and then battling the insurance companies when it comes to the damn limits on the drugs that do work. I've taken Sansert as a preventative over the years. It's not a perfect med and can harm your liver if taken for extended periods. The Imitrex injections are by far the best abortive in my experience. I've only tried O2 once toward the end of one headache with not much luck.

You can learn a lot from this site. I wish it was around 20 years ago!

Take Care
