tell you a little story:
This lady told me this a few years ago:
Her cat got sick. Developed cancer. No laughing matter. The kids loved the cat. The cat was old but they proceeeded to get all the treatment money could buy. The good and honorable veteranarian (sic)obliged them with this treatment. The treatment cost $25,000 in 1994 dollars which was pretty good money back then :-)
The cat proceeded to die.
The lady told me this story and I neither laughed nor was I disrespectful. I did not remind her of how many children could be fed in Biafra with $25,000 or how many childhood diseases we could prevent in the third world with $25,000. I just listened and showed compassion.
I think I should be canonized for this :-)
