Thanks Heather for writting us! I'm so sorry you have to see your mother in so much pain and I'm so sorry that Elaine has this!
I think it's time again to call the doctor and tell him how long the attacks are lasting. I've had 2 attacks that lasted 4hrs each so I know how you think they will never end...but they do...thank God for that. They do end but in the mean time I know how terrible it is and how you think your head will just explode and why doesn't somebody DO SOMETHING!
My family doctor just sat on the phone and told me," I know it hurts but I can't give you anything," luckly not all doctors are like her. The anesthesiologist I go to does try to help. He is the first one in 17yrs that tried anything for pain.
See if her doctor can get her into a pain clinic. I go to a rehab hospital to see the anesthesiologist.
