T, I think you are in the right place. Your experience of CH history is Almost Identical to mine and many others who wound up here. I read your post and in my opinon, you have the "classic" symptoms of a Cluster Headache sufferer. You will hear the paradox " We are sorry that you are here but glad you found us "
You are fortunate to have been correctly diagnosed with CH,s. For many, the journey has been tough. But for many, there are effective treatments for those of us who were lucky/blessed to find a physician or neurologist that are well informed about Clusters and how to treat us. Since CH,s are pretty rare, many may never find the proper care. Every person that finds this site is very fortunate indeed. Why else would we be hear?
I empathize with the chronic sufferer.I am borderline. Knowing that there are others are way worse than I am helps. I am sorry to say this, but being supportive and trying to comfort ANY CHer has been rewarding and it is great to know that I can come here and be supported when I am struggling.
I have learned much about the nature of CH's; the exchange of ideas. Since many Doctors are oblivious of Cluster Headaches, you will be throughly educated and find useful tips,sometimes unorthodoxed,but many are desperate. Since many in the medical community are unaware, we try to educate the Doctor.I was lucky to find a neurologist that had me diagnosed in 20 minutes after 15 years of frustration and feelings of hopelessness. Since I have no insurance coverage I found a General practioner who sufferes from CHs and is willing to work with me from what I feel to be of value from ch.com. We are a growing group of fellow suffferers and part of our goal is to get recognotion among the medical community and try to obtain disability for the chronic and a means of obtaining the ability to afford meds for those who take a combination of expensive meds.Read and absorb from our site and I believe you will find "family" and friends
