My personal experience with CH has been that there is no pain at all between attacks, the attacks are characteristically one-sided with the division being very sharp - total pain on one side; none at all on the other.
I have been chronic for a long time. The only cognitive and creative drops I have experienced I have attributed to side effects of medication.
I know there are a lot of variants to this condition, but I will add my voice to the others. Get another opinion; be safe. Let us know.
