Our girl Bernadette came up with an excellent idea this morning and Anne raises the point too. There are so many children of cluster sufferers here and to this point our supporters program has only reached spouses or significant others. Kids DO need to feel helpfull and for those single parents out there, these kids automatically assume the supporter role. Single parent families or not, kids need to know that even just the simple act of bringing Mom a cold wash cloth has somehow helped Mom get through her pain. What a great idea to get these kids talking to EACH OTHER. I know Heather, Elaine's daughter, is an expert, and maybe some of the younger kids could draw strength from someone closer to their own ages who has gone through life in a cluster family. I know my daughter has seen so much and felt so helpless. How wonderful it would have been for her to have had a peer to talk to who really understands what she has been through...
Hmmm....wheels are turning now. Ideas?
