I have been "experimenting" with caffeine to try to find out if it is a treatment or a trigger for my headaches. I believe it is both. A good strong cup of coffee taken a half hour or so before I "plan" on getting a headache will often ward them off for a while. But then sometimes they come back, later. Sometimes up to three a day, which is not normal for me during a cycle (I usually get one every two days up to one a day). Caffeine definitely seems to affect them. I decided it might be best to give up caffeine during a cycle, and tried it, with good results. Then, when I though my cycle was over, I had a couple of cups of coffee one night--the next morning I woke up with a very quick and vengeful headache. As for other food, I just don't know yet. But I've heard that the nitrites/nitrates found in things like hot dogs and sausage are pretty nasty chemicals, and can do god-knows-what to the body/DNA...
