I agree with you. It's not so much the excess of grey matter, but rather WHERE the excess grey matter is located. The Hypothalamus or Circadian Clock is where the excess grey matter has been found in people that suffer from Cluster Headaches. I believe that Dr. Goadsby found this in all 29 Cluster sufferers that he studied. I believe he found no excess grey matter anywhere in the 25 people that he studied that did not suffer from Cluster Headaches.

Please read gary g's post again. He acknowledged the fact that some people may follow different belief systems. For example I like to follow the science of everything researched on Cluster Headaches. You make a good point not to "discount all thoughts of the past". I have personally compiled a box of information regarding research about Cluster Headaches from the past and the present. I make my own conclusions based this big box of "old" and "new" information on Cluster Headaches. Sometimes the "new" stuff makes the "old" stuff look stupid and ridiculous. For example I have concluded, (my opinion only), that the statements listed below are ridiculous.
"Cluster people are 85% men".
"Cluster people are heavy drinkers".
"Cluster people are blondes".
"Cluster people have hazel eyes".
Etc, etc, etc……
When I research Cluster Headaches I tend to discount information about Migraines, Sinus headaches, Stress headaches and headaches caused by a blow to the head. I stick to one topic. Cluster Headaches. "A different animal indeed".
