Excellent suggestion Susan. Below is an E-mail I sent to Dr. Goadsby along with his immediate reply. Please notice whom he suggests that WE write. Not sure if Dr. Goadsby's reference to "Wellcome" is Glaxo Wellcome. ????

Dr. Peter J. Goadsby,

Saw your video interview on BBC and read the interview you did with Natasha Mitchell as well as listened to the VOA radio interview you did. OUTSTANDING! I have had chronic Cluster headaches for 15 years. Various medicines have "worked" for a brief time.....Lithium, Calan SR, Depakote, Neurontin....etc. Love my Oxygen, Imitrex (Imigran) and Ercaf. Doc just gave me some Maxalt to try as well. Not only do I suffer from Clusters, I also find the illness fascinating. After I heard the news of your discovery I called my three local television stations and asked if they would be interested in doing a report on Clusters. Guess what; they never heard of Cluster Headaches. All three did a story on Clusters anyway. I have attached one of the newscasts here. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your obvious compassion and dedication to Cluster Headaches. I have two young daughters ages 6 and 2. I do NOT want them to suffer from this awful disease. I hope it is NOT hereditary. Any thoughts about this?
I firmly believe that you deserve to be Knighted; I am still looking for the Queen of England's E-mail address to notify her. Again, Thank You.

I received this reply:

We think there is a some hereditary component but the number of familial cases is very very small, so I would not worry about it. I am glad that you found it interesting. I am often quized by research funding bodies about how valuable what I do is...rather than a knighthood I would much prefer to do this work which I think is very important. If you write to someone, or have a mind to have your fellow sufferers do so, I would write to the Director of the Wellcome Trust because they funded and continue to fund the work. I am sure that they do not often have patients tell them how valuable it is and as you might imagine it means more coming from you than from me. Thank you for your encouragement. Peter Goadsby
