I started getting clusters @18 or 19 years of age. I was a smoker, drinker, drugger and member of the subculture. My lifestyle changed when I was 30. I quit smoking cigs first, pot a couple months later(along with all other controlled substances)and never drank to the point of inebriation after that. All those changes didn't keep the demon away. Smoking, drinking and pot always seemed to intensify the clusters for me. Is ther a connection between my previous lifestyle and CH? Could it be inherent? Maybe clusters cause smoking I don't know. How many CHers out there have parents or relatives that do the dance? How many never partook in any of the above mentioned self abusive behaviors? Now I know some of you are going to say that it had to be second hand smoke because you didn't inhale...Prof Goadsby has found the increased density of grey cells in the hypothalamus. Is looking for the cause of this abnormality the next logical step. (Not to precede a cure all remedy of course)
