One of the meds my wife is taking that is really helping is the Amitriptyline (Elavil) We were taking it once a day, but increased it to 2x and it really seems to be helping. The morpine derivative is Oxycontin. There is a sustained release that is good to take 2x, and an IR, that is good for instant. Take the IR at the first sign of a CH. It still takes about 30-45 minutes for peak time. Verapamil is a maint. med. Takes a few weeks to really get in the system and start helping. Toradol was a waste of time for my wife, but she has a high tolerance. Very high. The only thing that has knocked out the pain for her is Demerol IV. That, I don't recommend for many.
