I was looking for any studies done on the relationship between ANY hormonal abnormality and clusters. As I have been reading through various posts and entries on this site, I have noticed that alot of people had first cluster attacks around onset of puberty(male and female). Now I know not everyone follows this pattern but it does seem common. I,personally, had my first around 11 y/o. Last year, after years and years of having gynocological problems and fighting my weight, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome(PCOS). This disorder involves a hormone imbalance in which the pituitary gland produces to much androgen(a male hormone). The recent discovery of the hypothalamus involvment in clusters has made me wonder how many of all of us have some sort of hormonal imbalance that could be a precipitating factor. This is just a thought but if anyone else has any opinions or info either e-mail me or post here.
