I know that prayer can do this. It can make us believe and thereby focus our energy into making something come about. I don't mean to knock God or Goddess, but I think that we hold the power by being in tune to the universal energy of all things. The trick is just knowing how to channel this energy positively and in the right direction.
I think that all things do happen for a reason, but I don't believe that we suffer from Ch because we have sinned. I don't believe that my son suffers from a genetic bone disorder because he has sinned. He's the sweetest little person alive and he hasn't lived long enough to accumulate that much sin to be paid back by his affliction.
I think we are given too much to handle, but I don't think that it's God giving it to us. I think that's just life. What you do with what you are given in life is how you make a difference for others.
