This worked for me after a year of daily multiple episodes and severe depresion.
1. Start prednisone to break the cycle.
2. Take at least 240 mg verapmil sr daily. 480 is what worked for me
3. Consider lithobid 3-900 mg sr daily.
I was using 3-4 injections daily untill I started this program, Last time I looked most junkies dont spend that much for heroin. That is what I felt like, a junkie. I had to argue with my Neurologist several times to finaly get this mix but have been mostly headache free since May. BY the way my young neuro advised me that these are not rebound headaches but simply the body not responding to the Imitrex as well as it did at first. In other words the beast overpowers the drug at some point. The correct dose for prednisone is long and up for discussion with most doctors, E-mail me if you want to know my story.
This approach saved my life as it was all but over if things had stayed the same.
Good luck as most doctors don't always agree to self medication idea's.
