I am almost never sick - maybe one cold or flu per year (I'm thankful for that). At thanksgiving I had a serious 10 day flu. 1 week later, I've entered into my 1st cluster episode in about 5 years. 3 months ago I had a 1-2 day flu. After, a CH episode tried to start for a 4-5 day period, but it never took hold. My Dad has these and he thinks he recalls a link between flus/colds and CH episodes after. My grandfather also had CH's...and they say it's not hereditary?
