Surprisingly, the sauce does not burn unless you get it on your lips or tongue; there are no taste buds under the tongue. Just a few drops work for me, but like other abortives, you have to use it at the first twinges. Keep it under your tongue for five minutes to give it a chance to work sublingually. If nothing else, you can enjoy the sauce. :-)
