There was some interesting precedent set regarding the LA statute back in 1933 in Rabinowitz versus Brown. It seems Rabinowitz did indeed cross from LA into Miss. with the intent to Boyd a young lady by the name of Penelope Brown. Since Miss. did not have a similar statute and crossing state lines with the intent to Boyd can only be controlled with a Federal Law, and to this day there is no Federal Law regarding Boyding, Rabinowitz brought suit against the State of Louisiana in the Appellate court in Baton Rouge, for unlawful arrest and imprisonment. As fate would have it, Rabinowitz lost the suit ( the Judge ruled that even though there is no Federal Law against Boyding, there probably should be )and to this day is serving time for this crime. Scheduled to be released in 2005 when he will be 95 years old, Rabinowitz has been overheard in the prison infirmarary stating that as soon as he gets out he is gonna Boyd the first "chickie" he gets is hands on.
