I can't say I know anything about Indian philosophy, but I completely agree with the concept. We've talked many times here on various coping techniques.

I wouldn't say I 'force' the pain to its apex so much as 'ride' it, through intense focus on the pain. This seems to spur it on to its' peak, and it's my belief that each attack must peak prior to abating. So I'm with you all the way.

On the few occasions I've mentioned this here before, I've gotten a fair number of "What??? Are you crazy??? You MAKE it hurt worse??" kind of reactions. Let me expound a bit in an attempt to avoid that this time.

1-I believe the CH IS going to reach whatever peak it has chosen for each and every attack.

2-The sooner it peaks, the sooner it ebbs.

3-The faster the attack ends, the happier I am, because;

4-No, I'm NOT a masochist.

Conclusion: It is to my benefit to have the attack peak as rapidly as possible.

Welcome aboard, John.
