Miguel,
First off did I read on the board that you are in the medical field? I'm a newby so I have missed a lot of post.
Why Clonidine, Well I've been on everything imaginable prior to this and a member who is tapped into the research end of the field made me aware of the Italians research into CH and Clonidine is what their are touting to use .
After 10 years I sure didn't want to start back and go backwards by redoing the therapies I've already tried over and over with no relief.
Tegretol- made me a raving mad man
Sansert- shrank every vein to 1/20th of their normal size and never helped.
Verapamil-helped for about 2 years but stopped cold.
Prednisone-- I've done so many times I'm surprized I don't have Moonface and no hair.
or kidneys.
Histamine IV po2--done 6 times and was pure misery for the 3 days it takes to do-never helped at all.
DHE-45 done several times and no help
Sumatriptan-Only tried one time and thought I would die right there in the Doctors office.
and the list goes on and on and on for about 3 pages of medications. So I'm a little skeptical about any medication and actually I think I've done this one before and I'm waiting for my medical records to be checked by the V.A. today to make sure. Don't think it help the last time but I was on way too high of a dosage and my BP dropped out and I had a Near Death experience!
At this stage of the game I'll try anything because I'm in what I call a crisis mode with upwards of 10-15 attacks a day for the past 2 1/2 months now-Never less than at least 3 a day.
Hope I didn't over do the answer--Sailpappy
