Jackie, I am so sorry to hear that your beast seems to have mutated. You describe exactly what happened to me two years ago. I wish I had good words of advice. I am just coming off a cycle which Prednisone seems to have tempered but the pain between number 10 spikes has now cranked up to a constant 5 or 6. There seems to be no end (sorry, I guess I need to whine).
I have found a modicum of strength in the realization that I have gone chronic and simply need to pare down my life and deal much more deliberately with being well-rested, eating right, etc, etc.
I started with a point but my head is going off and I lost it. Time for some O2.
