Hi,
I suffer from cluster headaches, since my early 20's. If you're hit by an attack when it's not convenient to see a doctor, I have found that Benadryl Cold Medicine will work if you take 2 initially then follow up with 2 more 4 hours later. But if you do go to a doctor again the only prescription that I have found that works is Soma, with a small a dose as possible of Phenegram. And I'm ashamed to admit it but if I smoke marijuana, the attaches only come 2 to 3 times a year. I've told every doctor that has cared to ask "What is the best medicine for your headache?" that it is marijuana and they all said they know. But unfortunataly it's illegal and I don't want to kill my conscience by doing something against the law. So I take the medicines that I listed before and suffer through DAYS of headached accompanied with vomiting and wetting my pants from vomiting so violantly. My friend who is deceased now, had CML Luekemia and was prescribed marijuana ciggarrets for pain and nausea. I went to her Doctor and explained my symptoms and told him that I had tried one of her mar.cigs. and it worked within 1 hour!! He said he would gladly give me a prescription for it and alot of his other patients, but, he can only give it to cancer or aids victims. So a big dead-end to the best medicine for my pain. But I have learned that my Cluster Headaches come the strongest when the barometric pressure falls. And I tell myself it won't be long before the pressure rises and it will be much better.

P.S. I have had near heartattachs using Imitrex, or any medicine with ergotomines in it, so beware and go to the doctors office and sit in the waiting room for at least 30 minutes after you try any of these medicines, your blood pressure is already high from the pain and if I would have been alone when I had such a reaction, I could'nt even dial 911 much less drive myself to the hospital. Just a suggestion.

Sincerly,
Cindy
