I have had episodic clusters (on left side) for 12 years on an 11 month cycle. I have also had chronic (on right side), but milder for the last two years.
A few months ago, on the advice of my sister, a bioligist, I started taking Evening Primrose Oil. After about 10 days the chronic headaches became less frequent and less severe and later stopped completely.
I should have started the episodic bout about 8 weeks ago, and if history is anything to go by, the bout should now going into decline. All I've had were two days worth of fairly mild left side pains a few weeks ago.
I cannot guarantee that the Evening Primrose Oil is the cure, but near the beginning of the course I missed a couple of days and the pains came back. The dose that I am taking is a single 1000mg capsule per day. Try it and see.
