Those sensations you describe are normal. I experience the same thing. I have been using Imitrex for about 8 yrs.up to 6 times per day for 4 mos. duration. My cluster cycles come at least once per year. I use no other meds at all. Have you tried a part dose of Imitrex. I use a 1/3 dose for lesser h/a's and 1/2 dose for severe ones. I find that decreases the tingling, throat tightness and heart pounding effect. I use the injections, they are very easy to split. Just inject(without using auto-injector) half and save the rest for later. I hope this a help to you.
