I as well have used meds. in the past that with different cycles become ill effective! This cycle i have had moderate success with Imitrex tablets as a preventative (taken before bedtime) and then if the demon still breaks through i use 100% Oxygen to try and further alleviate the pain! The oxygen does work if i catch the CH in the early stages and it has no side effects. If you do use the oxygen be careful not to stay on it too long at one time (i usually breath in about 12-15 deep inhalations then take about a 2-3 minute break and repeat - sometimes i stay inhaling longer if i m to the point where i dont give a shit and want relief at any cost) The oxygen can be damaging to your lungs, believe it or not if you stay on it too long at one time! This seems to be the method this time that provides some relief!
Last night, during my nightly "dance", i used an ice pack (didnt help last time - only infurated the beast) on the right side of my head (pain side) and went one step further by putting my head in the freezer for a couple of minutes!! I know it sounds corny, but i read about it in someone elses post, and it seemed to help lessen the pain!!
Don't care what people might say - i'll do absolutely ANYTHING at this point to break the back of this bastard!!
Best of luck to you!! Let me know if you try any of these methods and if they help! In my 9 yrs. of fighting these things, i've learned, finally, to do whatever it takes to get some relief.
Until then - God Bless!
