I used virtually the same therapy for years except I switched the coffee for coca-cola. Finally the benedryl made me too sleepy and I went to decongestants (pseuphedrine) and this still worked until about 2 yrs ago. I think this was commonly prescribed because drs. thought this was a sinus HA... over the eye, nasal congestion on that side and possibly a watery eye on that side. Years ago I was told it was sinus and I never took it any further til this year.
