I have a hypothesis about what might be an important causal factor, based on a lot of serious literature search & consultation with several very experienced CH types;
I have 14 usable responses so far - need AT LEAST 100 to do a valid analysis - the results from the 14 so far are AMAZING in the pattern that's shaping up, but a result cannot be claimed without a very large sample size - IF the pattern holds, it WILL establish a piece of the puzzle - if not, then that IS also information -it's looking at a very small, distinct, and fairly subtle aspect of the disease

Question 1: Where do you live now ?
(my focus in on latitude, so answers to all ?s that are accurate within a couple hundred miles is close enough: eg: "Germany" "New Jersy" "southern Chile"
Question 2: Where did you live the first couple years of your life ? (same instructions)
Question 3: What is the GENERAL region of longterm ancestry on your father's side ?
(eg: "mostly German", "England & Scotland" are accurate enough answers)
PLEASE remember to be place-oriented - usually country name will suffice, BUT "Native American", "China" & the like aren't accurate enough - too big an area - please give "northern China" or "southern Native American" (or tribe if North American- I am familiar enough to place them)
Question 4: What is the GENERAL ancestry region on your mother's side ? (same as 3)
This is a very focussed inquiry into one aspect only of Cluster Headache - I have had quite a bit of professional research technique advice in designing this study, and have been a clusterhead myself for 28 years and a heartbreaking number of deadend experiments at the hands of baffled doctors,
will report results to all participants - the focus is NOT ethnic, except to the extent that ethnic background is a factor of geographical origins -
I am glad to "discuss" the general problem of CH with anybody who wants to knock it around, in separate emails or on the msg bd, but please keep responses to this survey concise and specific to the questions as asked
