I am not sure if you can get it in the US, but there is a herbal powder that inflates in the stomach and does the same as stapling, or stomach resection, basically, but without the ops.
Stomach is full, you eat less.
They are called (over here) Konjac capsules and they contain "500 mg of the root of Amorphophallus konjac" (yes, all right, have a ball with that name...)
I am not sure if they'll work for everybody and they may not be up to severe overeating problems.
