Can these poor kids handle the medication that we adults take? And if so, what kind of damge can some of these drugs do to young, growing organs and bodies? This really breaks my heart. In my case, there is evidence that I had real bad headaches as early as age four. Taken to the hospital, etc. But there were never cycles, just isolated incidents, not even sure if they were clusters. I'm not sure how WE adults get through a cycle, let alone a kid. The post jaque put up about Daniel, where his reaction to beating the beast was " Whoo- hoo, that was a good one!" Kind of like he was saying, "Nice try, but you ain't beatin me!" That literally choked me up a little. HE"S 14!! How can you not admire that young man?
I'm ramblin again, but I will ask my neuro at Jefferson if there are any children as CH patients there, and if there is any special meds or alternative methods of treating them. I had to reschedule my appointment for next week. I'll fill you guys in on what I hear.
