My name is David Stamets, I am a freshman at Western Washington University. My families story is very interesting. Three years ago on March 23, 1997, My grandmother Mildred G. Rose had an MRI at Legacy Meridian Hospital in Tualatin, OR, a suburb of Portland. My grandmother had congested heart failure and could not breath while laying on her back as a result of the disease. She was a very large woman and did not want to take an MRI in a closed machine. My mother, her daughter, arrived at the hospital just as she was being put into the testing machine, a closed MRI with a 22 inch diamter(approximate) my mom insisted that she be able to talk to her mother and the technician refused to let her stating that the test would only take a few moments and that she could speak with her when it was over. During the test the technician switched off the oxygen, while my mother watched my grandmother suffocate to death in front of her eyes. My grandma was very claustrophobic and a very large woman as i have already stated. The hospital has stated that the cause of death was natural and my parents are currently involved in a suit against the hospital for wrongful death. I thought this story may be interesting to you and your writings, if you have any questions or would like to pursue this case, let me know by emailing me or my phone number is 360.788.1535, i have numerous family members that would be very eager to speak about this situation also I am sure, and would like to get it into the open. Thanks, David Stamets
