Inside my head

I will light the match this morning,
So I won't be alone.
Watch as they lie silent,
Cause soon my will, it'll be gone.

I will stand, arms outstretched,
Pretend I'm free to roam.
I will make my way,
Through one more day, alone.

I will walk around in darkness,
Hearing the torturers tone.
Trying to remain in silence,
He must not hear me moan.

As I beg and plead for death,
The pain knocks me to my knees.
As I fight this agony,
Death ignores my pleas.

I will hold the candle,
Until it burns up my arm.
I'll keep taking punches,
Until his will grows worn.

I will stare the sun down,
Until my eyes go blind.
I won't change direction,
And, I won't change my mind.

I will swallow poison,
Until I grow immune.
I will scream my lungs out,
Until it fills this room.

How much more can I take?
How much difference does it make?
