The only side effects of Imitrex I noticed after 6 weeks of 6 times/2mg/day is a lot of pinholes in my legs and arms and the odd bruise from rupturing a small vein with the needle. I have had extensive blood tests after heavy use of Imitrex and checked by my Dr. and no problems were found. I asked my Neurologist about Imitrex rebounds and he said he doesn't think it causes rebounds. He said if it did the attacks would never end. Also you would not get days during a cycle where you get breaks from the headaches. If you don't have any heart problems, don't worry about your Imitrex use.
